The Significance of Making Art

1/59
The Significance of Making Art is an ongoing folio of the process and the spirit of human creativity. The foundation of this folio is an ongoing edit of about 170 environmental portraits of Houston based artists made between 1984 and 1990. Those portraits were exhibited in several small groupings but never altogether.
The opportunity of the No Zoning Show at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, CAMH, in 2009, gave me the chance to build on the original portraits and turn it into a photo essay of 32 images. In 2010, the Houston Arts Alliance awarded me a merit grant and I added additional images to this folio. I hope draw collaborators to publish a book about the Houston Creative community.
