Punk Under Reagan
During my internship at the Houston Post the summer of 1980, one assignment I really enjoyed was taking photographs at the Island, the first venue in the city playing that "new fangled" punk rock music. This folio also includes images taken in Austin Texas and genie souls of the Island including the Axiom. The music resonated with the feelings of anger, isolation, and companion views of the political and social situations that I felt uncomfortable with in a comfortable way. These images were exhibited in the late 1980's in the Glassel, the Houston Center for Photography and the Menil in 1998.
